About the Role
We’re hiring a Senior Financial Reporting & Technical Accountant to own complex accounting and reporting in a fast-growing fin tech company. This is a hands-on individual contributor role for someone who can operate independently, bring structure to ambiguity, and build durable reporting processes as the business scales. You’ll partner closely with Finance leadership to ensure accurate financial statements, defensible technical accounting positions, and audit-ready reporting
Job Responsibilities:
- Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with U.S. GAAP
- Prepare, review, and maintain complex balance sheet account reconciliations, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and compliance with U.S. GAAP; document conclusions and resolve discrepancies
- Research and apply new accounting standards, draft technical accounting memos for complex or non-routine transactions
- Develop and maintain accounting policies as the business evolves
- Support audits and reviews; act as a technical accounting point of contact
- Identify gaps in reporting, controls, and processes and implement practical, scalable improvements
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
- CPA required
- 3 -5+ years of accounting experience with strong technical accounting and reporting exposure
- Public accounting background (Big 4 or national firm preferred)
- Experience in a startup or high-growth environment
- Strong judgment, technical writing skills, and attention to detail
- Comfortable owning work end-to-end in a fast-moving, resource-lean environment
- SEC reporting experience
- Experience scaling close and reporting processes
- Fintech, marketplace, or regulated industry experience
